In the scheme of things, what is a skein of yarn? That small strand packs a wallop of happiness for us knitt'n folk, no doubt, but I have a million of them. Or more. But on a day so stressful and full of uninspired thinking that you are stalking the brown-clad delivery man, willing him to bring you a sweet package of something that you didn't buy for yourself; a creamy white skein of lace-weight Cormo is heavenly. That package could only be made better by a few small dye packets and a tin of Atone-mints ("for each of your sins"). So you carry on with your evening, that perfect soft skein soaking patiently in the dyepot, on the stove. The pattern is forming, etched into the thin haze between you and your cohorts. A perfectly tangible stitch of the leafy variety. There is texture, but it is still delicate. Oh yes, very delicate. And thus, the drama of a given night is downplayed and the creativity renewed again.

Oooh. I like the way you write. And I am happy to have found your blog!
